We recently moved to Co Springs, and as such, we have little food in the house right now. Craving Chinese food, we decided to give this place a try. Wow...sure glad we did. They have no website that I could find, but lots of menu pics were posted online, so we were able to figure out what to order. First thing I noticed...prices are amazing. Like, super low. This made me a bit nervous; the whole 'you get what you pay for' idea, but onward we marched. Ordered two dinners; one spicy shrimp lo mein, one sesame chicken (asked for spicy, get to that later). Each dinner comes with a soup and an app and rice; we went fried rice, one pork eggroll, one crab cream cheese wonton and wonton soups. Our total was just over $20 for everything. Ridiculously low for the amount of food we ended up with. I think they seriously are faster than Jimmy Johns delivery. It seemed like the guy was ringing the doorbell in 20 mins or less...honestly, ridiculously fast. I mentioned that to the delivery guy (who was super nice and not afraid of my barking obnoxious dog); he did say the house is very close so we were first on his delivery route. Score! The food. The food was pretty darn great. It was piping hot when we opened the bags (always good). And there was A LOT of it. I don't think even half the portion of each main dish was eaten. And bonus...was expecting one wonton and one egg roll and we got 2 of each! Both dinners were excellent, although not very spicy, which was kind of a bummer since it was requested spicy for both. There was some type of horseradish sauce that came on the side; not sure if that was 'make it your own spicy' but that s*!t was HOT...cleared my sinuses right up. Lots of big vegetable pieces in both dinners, and the flavoring was right on. The crab cream cheese wontons were excellent, with and without the sweet n sour sauce; didn't try an egg roll, but given how fast they were eaten, I'd say they were pretty delicious as well. The soup was also very good; lots of veggies in it and healthy sized dumplings (?). Whatever they were, they were really good. The wonton strips were on the side, and they give much more than needed. The fried rice wasn't like typical fried rice, in that it wasn't super greasy. It wasn't very sticky either, so eating it with chopsticks was a challenge, but it was really good. Seriously one of the cheapest and best Chinese dinners I've had in a long time. Will definitely order from here again.

Cozy atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and give exceptional service. I love the low light and the art on the wall. Decorations make me feel like I'm in the 70s. Not a bad thing.

Very nice family business. You get a lot for what you pay for and can leave a good tip with the money you saved! The meat is quality and not grizzled bits of fatty. It is fairly quick to wait. The environment is quiet and peaceful. The staff are not smothering or neglectful.

An unimpressive store front in a strip shopping center just blew my family away. Probably the largest portions of any Chinese (or otherwise) restaurant I've ever eaten at. We had sweet and sour chicken (too much for two people to share), beef with vegetables, sesame chicken, chicken fried rice and ocean world. Everyone was delighted with the flavor and overwhelmed with the portion size. Fried rice was basically bottomless. Each entree comes with soup and egg roll. And, almost all entrees at dinner are $10 or less. I agree with the intelligent reviewers on Yelp... Wow!

Humongous portion size with extra stuff on the side. Dinner came with delicious soup, egg roll, and wonton. The Sesame Chicken was way too sweet however. It was bad enough to where I actually threw it away without finishing, and I never throw away food. It was un-eatable, if that's even a word. The guy working there was super upbeat and friendly. Still, I won't return here.

I don't want to tell people about this place because its our little secret! But I guess I have to share. So yummy, huge portions and great prices. Meals come with soup, egg roll and fried wanton. The staff is so friendly. They are great to eat in, pick up or have delivered. The sesame chicken is my favorite, the sauce is SO good. My kids love the sweet and sour chicken and my husbands goes for the spice, mongolian beef or sichuan chicken. Man, I'm making my own mouth water!

The best service you'll ever get! The owners of this restaurant treat you like family. Every time I go in they remember me and are super friendly. The egg rolls are delicious! I order a huge amount for a holiday party every year and every single one gets eaten up! And they deliver! Can't get better than that!

This is one of my favorite chinese restaurants on the north side. They have the standard variety of menu for a decent price. Dinner entrees come with a choice of rice (steamed,fried), a soup, egg roll, cream cheese rangoon, fried noodle chips, and fortune cookie. Most of the things I've gotten over the years were pretty good, especially the steamed dumplings. Two things I wish they would improve are the fried rice (it's pretty plain) and the packaging on to-go orders. A few times it's spilled in the paper bag, though I'm not exactly sure how. I don't think it was the soup since it's in a styrofoam cup with a tight lid, so I think the standard paper folded box for the entree might be the culprit.

If you want some Chinese food in Colorado Springs GO HERE. The food here is served up in huge portions and was difficult to finish. Could have easily shared a dish with the gf. Got our own dish each cause it was so dam cheap also! The staff are super friendly and my fortune cookie taught me how to say refrigerator! Now that's a bonus you don't expect to receive after a meal! If I lived in Colorado Springs I would come here all the time.

My brother suggested Overseas 101 to me, and while not always the best judge of personal character he is usually spot on with food. My wife and I went in for lunch and ordered Chicken Lo Mein and Sesame Chicken. The lunches are very affordable and come with your choice of soup (and an egg roll if I remember right). The food came out very quickly and was great. Not overly greasy like many of the other Chinese places in The Springs. The best part was the owner who was so warm and welcoming. Located between Target and Safeway (closer to Target) and easy to overlook.

Joe is the best! This place is truly satisfying Chinese food. You know how you try a new Chinese place expecting that savory salty goodness but everything is just blah or has some weird off taste that makes you wonder what kind of meat that *really* is? Overseas 101 is the complete opposite of that. Everything is packed with flavor and with portions that could feed a family of four with two dinner entrees. This was our spot before moving to Fountain but we just moved back up north and literally the first night at the new house we ordered take out from here. "It's been too long, combo fried rice cooked by Joe's tiny loving hands, it's been too long... " (said in my head as I inhaled it.) PS. Their egg rolls are bomb dot com and I know good egg rolls (Filipino heritage. If you've never tried lumpia with banana ketchup you haven't lived.)

Meh. We ordered 4 entrees and 2 appetizers. It cost 55 bucks, 65 with tip. The food was unimpressive. The sesame chicken and gen tso's chicken looked almost identical except for a sprinkling of sesame seeds on one. Neither of them looked like they had sauce on them,at first. On closer look, they did have sauce but it was so thin and watery and there was so little of it, that you had to really look for it. I'm not exaggerating when I say both sauces were almost clear. The egg rolls were very small and a little soft but the veggies inside were light and crunchy. The cheese wontons were also small and the bottoms of them, were soft. But there was a decent amount of filling and it was delicious. I would say that every piece of chicken was in the fryer too long and the egg rolls and wontons weren't in long enough. I loved that the sweet and sour sauce had big pieces of pineapple and bell pepper. I also loved that I didn't get food poisoning, always a concern when I try a new place. I have a fair amount of experience cooking Chinese cuisine but sometimes you don't feel like cooking. I'm always surprised when my recipes are far superior to an actual restaurant. Next time I don't want to cook my Chinese food, I'll call Mandarin Bistro.

This is now our roommate tradition. This is the first good authentic Chinese place I've found in the Springs. The prices are great and so are the people. They deliver too! If you're GF they'll sub out breaded chicken for steamed.

This is my favorite spot for Chinese food in the Springs. Have not had a bad meal or service in the good 8 times I've been here. Sesame chicken is delicious and I highly recommend. It is family owned and the owners are always hustling when it gets busy. Never a waisted moment. But when it's slow, they are great for conversation too. I stopped in for a late dinner and the place was so dark that I thought it was closed. When I got inside I ordered a delicious hot and sour soup followed by a seafood combo. The combo is was good as well but seemed to be light on the seafood. I will be back for another visit soon.

Came here for the first time based on yelp reviews. The restaurant reminds me of an old fashioned diner-style. It's hidden in the strip mall. Look for it tucked south of the Target. Food? Let me just say I'm originally from Chicago, where pizza, hot dogs and Superb Chinese food is the mainstay. We've tried a few places here in the springs since we moved here 1.5 years ago. Most has been average. The food at Overseas 101 is definitely much more like the quality and flavor we are used to. Plus you get much more volume of food than you do most places. I highly recommend the combo fried rice. The egg rolls are made with spring roll type wrappers, so much lighter and less greasy than ordinary egg rolls. Also, the dumplings(aka pot stickers) were amazing. I could go on, but suffice to say we not only will be back, but we will order carry out in the future as well.

You can easily split an entree and still have leftovers to take home! Everything is very reasonably priced. Each entree comes with rice, spring roll, wonton and soup. Usually I am served by the owners, if not, they are always there working and always say hi when recognized. I occasionally order delivery but I always enjoy going in to dine. The Gazette had an article written about how it's a locals favorite gem, it at least is definitely one of mine for sure! (Article posted in the front window.)

Awesome food, wontons are dainty and flavored, the sweet and sour sauce is a golden red rather than the cheap hot pink, felt more authentic. The spring roll had straw mushrooms and wasn't heavy with cabbage. Great prices! Great place to try!

I am too broke to spend money on a place that doesn't put noodles in an order of chow mein..seriously..chow mein means soft noodles! Not just a bucket of veggies. Alsonit was the combo. They could have at least put shrimp in it because thats what I ordered. But hey, the wontons were good

Kung Pao Shrimp - go with it and get it spicy. Love this place and the owners couldn't be sweeter. I always feel good leaving here, as the food is tasty and it's a great local business to support.

Based on their 4 star review, I ordered sesame chicken lunch combo to go with fried rice & wonton soup. The cleanliness of the interior is not impressive. I wouldn't dine in due to that and the overwhelming fried oil smell. So the inside definitely needs alot of TLC. With tax it was $7 something. I liked that they use white meat, but it was still chewy instead of fluffy with a slight crunch. I didn't like the fried rice because it had a strange taste to it, the eggroll was OK, the sauce was under the chicken instead of all over it, probably the best part was the cream cheese wonton and wonton soup. I don't think I'll be back.

Craving Chinese food last night I opened my Yelp app and looked for Chinese around me. Overseas had great reviews and was only 2 miles away so I drove on over. When I was seated I noticed the prices were all good, around $8-9 for dinner (about $6 for lunch!) and that is with rice, fried wonton, egg roll and soup. I ordered pork lo mein and kung pow chicken, white and brown rice and one of each soup. I ordered two entrees because I was off work today so figured I could have leftovers today and not even have to put pants on. I was given the egg drop soup, which was good, most places have good egg drop, and this was no different. But let me just say once you get the fried wonton and egg roll you will be sold. The wonton had to be the best I've ever had, and I eat Chinese food religiously, and the egg roll was no slouch either tho. Next was the entrees. They were big plates full. The owner kept walking by and just laughing at how much I ordered. The Kung Pow wasn't the best I ever had, but it was still good. Good flavors, quite a bit of chicken and a lot of food! The Pork Lo Mein was GREAT! oh man.. I kept talking to myself while eating it, "ohhh soo good.", "ohhhh man!". I could eat that lo mein everyday, honestly, I absolutely loved it. I had a entire to-go box full of leftovers that I re-fried today and it was almost as good as fresh! So I got great food twice off one visit. The owner, which was my server (one woman show), was good, the service was good and she was funny. I was debating between 4 or 5 stars and honestly could not think of one bad thing I experienced here besides the kung pow not being the best i've had, but still good. So 5 stars it is!

Coming from L.A. I'm accustomed to good Asian cuisine at every corner. This has not been my experience in COS. I was happy to discover Overseas 101. It's a small, unassuming place, but it had the best Chinese food I've found in the Springs. They clearly use fresh ingredients, give generous servings, have great prices and offer kind service. If you're looking for a go-to place for take out, this is it.

Okay place, okay sesame chicken. Huge proportion, friendly staff, low price. The decor is a little dated, but that doesn't take away from the experience at all. Great for a quick lunch, but not much else. Not as good as the reviews say. I couldn't really say that much else about this place. The waitress was great but the food left a lot to be desired. Classic too salty and not enough sauce Chinese.

Fresh delicious food by itself would earn the five stars but the staff is awesome too. I don't know why this place isn't packed with people. This the first time here. I moved from Florida last year and use to eat Chinese food often. But l haven't had much here in CO. because it wasn't as good as I have had in the past. l called and we were outside the delivery area, But the Pan fried noodles with seafood sounded good as I have never heard of it. So I drove there to order pick up. Being new to area it was hard to find so called on cell phone and they were very friendly and told me how to get there from where I was (very close to them). The staff was very friendly. But I decided to get extra Hot sour soup as I really like it, They got me more and it really didn't take long. When I got home to eat. All I can say is OMG !!! The food was AWESOME it was best I have ever tasted and my wife loved hers also. I have eaten many places and the was the best I ever had. This now the place to get Chinese food.

Hard to find! Tucked into strip center just South of Target. Came due to high ratings - Place is ok but not the 4& 5 stars others have rated. Good but not great! I tried combo Sweet & Sour (Pork, Chicken and Shrimp) for dinner with hot & sour soup. Soup was tepid but had good flavor and served with chripsy noodles. I felt meat inside crusty batter was old and tasteless with very few vegetables. Fried Rice (more like brown rice) served with meal was cool. Egg Roll was very good and hot! Large serving which would more than serve two! I have three other places up North which are far better ALL THE TIME. Soda in can so had water.

We searched YELP and Urbanspoon and stumbled on this place. It's awesome! 5 of us, 3 teenage boys, and we all enjoyed it. Even the picky eater liked it! The woman working here is wonderful. This is a true find! Inexpensive in price but not cheap in quality or portions. Best lo mein I've had!

I've been coming to Overseas 101 for since it opened, maybe 8 years ago? The Asian owners, Joe and Sue, are wonderful and really go out of their way to please their customers. The food is always delicious and fresh, and I particularly like their Wonton Soup which has lots of fresh vegetables in it. It's the best I've ever had. Not like "normal" wonton soup you get with a few scallions floating in it. Also, I really like shrimp dishes and often order the Shrimp Lo Mein. It has a lot of large prawns in it for a reasonable price. My husband likes their Combination Chow Mein and it also has a lot of meat and seafood varieties in it. Definitely try this restaurant if you're in the mood for really good, fresh Chinese Food. It's not a Thai place with a few Chinese menu items. It's the real deal! The have a fairly extensive menu for such a small place. There are about 3 or 4 booths and about 6 tables in the dining area. It is clean and decorated nicely. i believe they're closed on Mondays, so be sure to check on that as their hours may have changed.

Across the street from my husband's workplace (lucky him) in a tucked away corner of the Target/Safeway shopping center at Union and Academy. You'll probably drive by it at least a dozen times before you see it. The owner is incredibly nice and will make you whatever you want, even if it's not on the menu. Their sesame chicken is great and inexpensive. I've only ever gotten take-out so not sure how the sit-down service is. Definitely my favorite Chinese place in CS.

Best Chinese food I've had in the springs and I have lived here a while. Fresh good flavor everything from apps to soup to entree and so much food we both had a full box to take home and only spent $21 for the two of us. Defiantly going back!

In my opinion, the best Asian food in town/ value for your money. You get free egg drop soup, egg roll and cream cheese wanton with every meal. Service is slow when busy which is weekend evenings. Fast when ordering pick up or going in on a weekday Nothing special about the interior. Very nice owner. I've eaten there about 10 times. Don't go on a Friday or Saturday at 6:30 PM or you will wait a long time for your food. Other than that, perfect.

This place *looks* like a cheesy stripmall Asian fast food joint. It's not, trust me. The name is a little cheesy too, but don't let that scare you--this is a neat little Chinese restaurant. It's run by a family, as are many small Asian restaurants, so the lady that serves you is married to the cook (well, he's at least one of the cooks). It's easy to miss because it's so small and it's dwarfed by Target next door. Even though it's only a mile away, I've driven past this place for ten years before I ever gave it a shot. The food is great, and they do a good job checking in to make sure you like it. I went there recently for lunch and got a seafood dish with scallops and shrimp. It was wonderful. The soup was good (hard to mess up Egg Drop Soup), and I got a pot of Jasmine tea. Can't comment on price (I didn't pay), but I would easily come back. I wonder if they have a big crowd for dinner, because it was very quiet and there were very few people at lunch. That made it a nice quiet place for conversation though.

Visited for lunch the other day, purely on yelpers recommendations, and I was mildly surprised by the quality and quantity of food. The lunch combos go for about 6.75$ and for the price you can't beat the soup, egg roll, cheese wonton, entree and rice they dish out. The cheese wonton was creamy and delicious and the hot-n-sour soup was chockful of tasty bits but unfortunately, the egg roll was just average. I ordered the spicy beef (extra spicy). The lunch was served with a healthy amount of beef and veggies and although the dish was not cooked extra spicy, the server provided dried chili's in oil on the side, which was nice, as I could customize my dish. The service was efficient and what the joint lacks in atmosphere it makes up in value. I'll definately be back!!!

We've lived in Colorado Springs for about a year now. I have tried a few chinese restaurants around town and have been greatly disappointed....but I have found the best place in the Springs! The food was so fresh, hot and tasted fantastic! The service was friendly and fast. We've been back several times and each time we were happy with the food and service. A definite must try!

All I can say is, WOW!!! We recently moved to the north side of the Springs and had been craving a decent Chinese establishment. We have tried many around the area but have never found the"one." The Double Pan Fried Noodles was amazing. Plentiful with shrimp, crab, and lots of Scallops! Not only did it have lots of scallops, but they were cooked to perfection. The soups were just as amazing. The Wonton soup had 2 wontons with lots of crisp veggies and a tasty broth. The Hot and Sour was equally as good. Glad to see we have found a new favorite. Ambience was your typical Strip store Chinese. Owners were very polite and friendly.

The most authentic Chinese food that I've had in Colorado Springs. Eating here reminded me of eating in one of the Chicago Chinatown restaurants that I used to frequent growing up. A genuine mom and pop shop where the wife serves and the husband is the cook in the back. The service was very friendly and quite spectacular. What did me in was that after we got "to go" boxes, the nice lady gave us a fresh portion of rice to take home. That is a mark of a great Asian restaurant. I felt like I was eating over at someone's house and the mom made sure that I had enough to eat and take home. It's a wonderful feeling. The prices are very reasonable and the duck that I had wasn't mind blowing, but definitely better than any other Chinese food I've had since I moved to Colorado Springs. Definitely give this place a try!

Terrible. Ordered 3 different entrees. They were all Terrible. Their fried rice is nothing but a little soy sauce mixed in their white rice. Staff very friendly. Only reason why I gave them 1 star

Overseas 101 is great! As vegetarians, my boyfriend and I love the Sesame Tofu, but the meat-eaters we've brought have given Overseas101 their stamp of approval as well. The lunch special is super affordable and a TON of food, and the employees are very polite and helpful. Highly recommend!

Ambiance: Simple decor -- Small to medium size restaurant with booth seating for up to four or table seating for two. Tucked away, almost hidden in the Target strip mall on Academy and Union. Service: Wonderful. Very attentive. The woman (who is also the co-owner) was very sweet. She poured tea from the pot to my empty tea cup for me several times - nice touch. Food: Good! I like the fact the broccoli in the stir fry is a bright green color and semi-crisp, not dark, dingy green colored and limp like many other places in town. I order the twice-cooked noodles. Noodles were a combination of semi-crisp and soft. The seafood that came with it was good (the shrimp and scallops anyway), though the "krab" was as you guessed, the fake stuff. Still alright. Good tasting veggies. Dessert comes with not just a fortune cookie, but also an almond cookie (tastes great with your tea). Overall, a good little place. I can't rave though (see my other reviews on Chinese restaurants in this town), as there are no "killer" Chinese places here in Colorado Springs. This place along with Coal Mine Dragon are two of the better options in town (still need to try Chopsticks). I probably would be willing to come back here, but oh how I "pine" for the great Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area of California.

A great little Chinese resturant that doesn't overcharge and will customize to your tastes. It is strange that more people do not frequent it. It is not a Pei Wei or PF Chang but your typical family owned Chinese Resturant. Great, fresh food. Right next to Target so it should get traffic. Sorry Eugene I have had a different experience there.

I saw the one review and thought I'd try it. Turns out, that I should smack Jessica for the review. I wasted $20 on Orange Chicken and the Kung Pao Shrimp. The Orange Chicken tasted like it was cooked a week ago, reheated it, and put the orange sauce on it. If you ever tasted food after you microwaved it, that's what it tasted like. As for the Kung Pao Shrimp, there was only 5 pieces of shrimp. The purpose of Kung Pao is to be spicy, but it was nowhere near it, and was very watery. DO NOT EAT HERE! I went to another Chinese restaurant called Rong Chang on the corner of N. Academy and Woodmen. That place is 100% better!

Overseas 101 can be found nestled in yet another fabulous Colorado Springs strip mall. My boyfriend would probably kill me for not giving Overseas 101 five stars. I only hold back because Overseas 101 does not blow my mind, but I will not deny that it is damn good. Overseas 101 has traditional Chinese food fare with plenty of special extras. You'll find that they pull off your favorite staples seamlessly, and that your dishes will taste (relatively, it's still Chinese food) light and fresh. I am a big fan of the Beef with Broccoli. I also highly recommend the chicken curry. It is not too thick or rich, has lot of great vegetables in it, and also has a little spicy kick that you don't always find in curry. As far as the special extras, I like the Crispy Tofu with House Sauce. It's nothing special, but that's what's great about it: its simplicity. You can also find things like Deep Fried Squid, Pork with Bean Curd or Pork with Eggplant. I have not tried any of these last three, so you should ingest them and let me know how they are!

I just love this place! The owner has the nicest smile ever :) (I don't know if he is the owner or not but he is always there!) very relaxed atmosphere. It is usually very quiet :) Food is nice! big serving! :)

First time trying fried tofu, however the homemade garlic sauce was complimentary to the dish. The hostess was great, the service was quick and all our food was plenty and hot.
